ST. JAMES THE APOSTLE CELEBRATES 90 YEARS WITH A BIG BAND CONCERT

Springfield, NJ (07/10/2014) –  St. James the Apostle Church is delighted to celebrate it’s 90th anniversary with a big band concert that is open to the public. On Friday, July 25, 2014, St. James will present Stardust Big Band performing an outdoor  program featuring popular hits of the swing era.  The tail gate concert will begin at 7:00 PM and patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and snacks to enjoy music under the stars.  The concert will be held at the church located at 45 South Springfield Ave, Springfield, NJ, 07081.  Tickets are $20 general admission and students age 18 and under are admitted for free.  Tickets are available at the church in advance or the day of the concert. The concert will be held indoors at the church in the event of rain.

Stardust is a 16-piece swing band that performs favorites by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Sammy Nestico and many other great American composers, plus many musical hits from Broadway shows.  This concert will include hits like:  “In the Mood”, “Take the A Train”, “Fly Me to the Moon”, “Almost Like Being in Love”, “Love is Here to Stay” and more.
