NEWS AND UPDATES
We are happy to welcome students from the Edward V. Walton Primary School here at Saint James.  Due to flood damage sustained by the Walton School building in the recent tropical storm, the Springfield Board of Education and Saint James Church have entered into a short-term lease agreement for the school building until their school is back up and running.
The school building is ready to go and we are looking forward to welcoming our new tenants beginning this week.  It truly is a blessing to see young students fill the halls of our beloved school building.  Best of luck to the students, teachers, and staff of the Walton Primary School!
FORWARD IN FAITH LISTENING SESSIONS
This week we will be hosting the FORWARD IN FAITH Listening Sessions.  Before I articulate my vision for our parish, I’m eager to hear yours.  Please know that I am looking forward to listening to you and hearing what you have to say about our wonderful parish and its future.
The two dates for the Listening Sessions, which will be held in the church, are:
Wednesday, September 22nd, at 10:00AM and Thursday, September 23rd, at 7:00PM
No need to RSVP, just come!
In addition to the two listening sessions, we will make available both a paper and a digital survey for those who aren’t comfortable/able to attend the in-person sessions.
LITURGICAL MINISTERS WORKSHOP
On Monday, October 4th, at 7:00PM in the church we will be welcoming all of our CURRENTLectors, Eucharistic Ministers and Ministers of Hospitality for a Liturgical Ministers Workshop.
The focus of the workshop will be to regroup as our liturgical ministries continue to ramp up.  We hope that this event will be for our liturgical ministers a time to refocus on the importance of liturgical ministry.
If you are currently a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, or a Minister of Hospitality here at Saint James, please be sure to RSVP to your ministry’s coordinator ASAP.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
I believe in that great love, that comes, or should come, from our heart, should start at home: with my family, my neighbors across the street, those right next door.  And this love should then reach everyone.
