Easter Message from Fr. David Santos

He is risen!

Easter is such a joyous day for us as Christians – a day in which we rejoice in the fulfillment of the promises of our Scriptures. The day in which, through His death and resurrection, Jesus opened Heaven to all of us. The day in which we learned that God is with us and will be with us for eternity, and that we will be in communion with Him.

Ilia Delio, a Franciscan sister and American theologian is credited with writing, “Where is the risen Christ? Everywhere and all around us – in you, your neighbor, the dogwood tree outside, the budding grape vine, the ants popping up through the cracks. We are Easter people, and we are called to celebrate the whole earth as the body of Christ.”

I’ve often thought how lucky we in the northern hemisphere are to celebrate Easter when the world around us is bursting with new life after the dormancy of winter. It truly feels like nature is giving us a blueprint for our own spiritual quests.

As we enter into this Easter season, my prayer for each of you is that you find ways to celebrate the whole earth as the body of Christ. That you achieve meaningful communion with all the little renewals that happen around us every day. And I pray that your observation of renewal in the natural world awaken in you both the hope and the commitment for renewal and vitality of your spiritual lives.

God Bless You and Happy Easter!

Quote of the Week

God made us for joy. God is joy, and the joy of living reflects the original joy that God felt in creating us.
