ANOINTING OF THE SICK

This Sacrament can be administered anytime by contacting one of the priests.
We make visits to area hospitals and nursing homes. Please contact the Parish Office.

Among the seven sacraments there is one especially intended to strengthen those who are being tried by illness and to provide them with the strongest means of support. This sacrament is called the Anointing of the Sick. This sacrament, as with all the sacraments, is performed to convey God’s grace to the recipient, through the power of the Holy Spirit. The anointing of the sick conveys several graces and imparts gifts of strengthening in the Holy Spirit against anxiety, discouragement, and temptation, and conveys peace and fortitude. Thus the sick person is able to bear suffering bravely.

On Saturday, May 20, 2017, during a special 11:00 AM Mass, we will celebrate the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick.

All are invited to attend this Mass. Those who are elderly, ill and/or facing impending surgery or hospitalization are invited to receive the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. Those receiving the Sacrament should also be baptized Catholics who have reached the age of reason. Please join us.
